Med Palms in Sicily

Just got back from a 9-day bicycling tour of southeast Sicily. Logged 160 miles, mostly in rural areas and small towns.
Saw thousands of Chamerops Humilis. The dry rural fields have thousands of this native palm in “fully exposed” sites; they are usually small and shrub-like. Grow among the olive tree orchards, and as volunteers in agricultural land. In the towns and resorts, they are groomed, multi-trunk specimen palms.
Absolutely ubiquitous in Sicily.
