Try an experiment.
Continue giving just plain water to the darker palm. For the other one, dissolve 2 teaspoons of Epsom salts per gallon of water. Do this once every 3rd week over a 9 week span (3 treatments). See if you notice a change. If the tree is darker, then the problem was likely a magnesium deficiency. If there is no change, you might want to think about iron and maybe potassium (via potash applications).
But start with the Epsom salts.
