Re: Is it too late to plant Impatiens as perennials?
For me Impatiens are great for sun and shade. The best thing is that nothing eats them, except that bacteria. I'm not aware of perennial varieties or anyone with luck with them as seeds. I usually surround Petunias with Impatiens and Begonias to help keep the rabbits away.
Like Petunias, planting about 3 doz gives me a slap-in-the-face stunning color even at a distance. I always bunch either of them together.
If you're talking about plants and not seeds...plant them if they're not too leggy.
The only seeds I plant this late are Cilantro. I plant more every 2-3 weeks so I always have fresh immature leaves for foods. I plant them up until early Oct.
