Rob, there is already a huge shortage of windmill palms. My friend that owns a palm supply business said that so many companies were replacing less-hardy palms with windmills in states like Texas, Louisiana, Alabama etc. this year because of the nasty winters lately. I think a lot of the developments panicked when they lost less-hardy palms that could have been replaced by palmettos or some other choices and they probably asked their sources for the cold-hardiest palms possible so they wouldn't have to replace everything again.
