Palmetto root temp

I'm really trying to get some major growth out of my largest palmetto this year. It has been in the mid 90s lately. I would assume it would love a lot of water combined with the heat but I remember hearing somewhere that the cold hose water wasn't great because it cools down the roots. Should I be watering for 30 minutes with a very low flow every couple days like this while we're in the 90s? Heat index is around 100.
