I had 14/15F, the "Warm Spot" but it was 11 just a couple miles away where I planted palms and not sure what my brothers palms look like in Northeast Austin that I planted. I think Waco was mid single digits. The tropical look took a cleanse all the way to the Gulf... and beyond ( center of cold dome did not go down Interstate 35 to San Antonio or the valley this time). This was a change over previous 2010 and 2011. El Paso, Dallas did fine considerably. Galveston was ground zero.
Mercer Arboretum north Houston, was nearly erased out by Hurricane Harvey river flooding, followed by the winter back to back.
I also had 6 inches of snow early December, then tennis ball hail this spring to finish off any green fronds.
