I have had alot of palm growers here in the south tell me they have had very poor performance out of Trithrinax campestris. It may be a provenance-hardiness connection, soil/drainage demands, or simply that they are difficult to establish. I was out mowing the lawn just now and noticed the largest trunk from my three Nannhorrops 'Iran Silver" has new silver spears emerging.
