The way I understand it, most Cymbidiums need a 25 degree differential between day and night temps. There are some Cymbidiums from the Philippines that are warm growers that have been use for hybridizing purposes. They impart a tolerance for warmth so that the orchids can manage the slight differential even in South Florida (10 to 15 degrees in the summer).
