While I don't know how much time these plants take to trunk, I will say that Dasylirion is a wonderful Genus. I hope they grow quickly for you Ken.
I know that some similar plants, like Nolina, can grow faster than expected and there are some good examples even up here in the 'cool' PNW growing trunks in a surprising amount of time. Like maybe 8 years for three feet, and we don't get heat anything like Charlotte.
