Depends. If you are landscaping..then 10 of this and one of that can work. If you are a plant lover, then those rules go out the window and replaced with.. "just dont block a window or door" "Or interfere with getting around.
Size is tricky..do you want to cut back in height something that's 15,30, 40+ years old? Something you planted when young and are no longer?
As I get older "Looks nice" battles with "Its what I like".
But if you have a huge yard,then you got the best world of all. Landscape with plenty of the specialists plants.
Right now,I'm just praying thanks to have a house in an area where people pay $700 a month to rent a small trailer..no electricity,no water,no bathroom. That was in today's paper!
