Interesting post. Here in NY I've had better luck with med. fan palms. I've had Pindos survive a few years and actually put on some nice size, but I always eventually end up losing them. I have some growing now so I haven't given up the fight. As far as the med. fan palms go, They take a beating every winter but always seem to bounce back. The silver type grow very slow for me but the green grow quite fast. I also think the green are more cold hardy. I should be opening up my palms real soon so soon we'll know how they made out this past winter.
