I'm fascinated by Gondwana flora, and for whatever reason, the rarest and ancient Gandwana plants are extremely temperate.
That being said, any Southern Hemisphere plant will pique my interest, and one of my favorites is Azara microphylla. It's like a curtain of tiny, shiny leaves.
Then about this time of year, you go outside and it smells like powdered chocolate, or vanilla. Very powerful winter scent I can't get by. anyway.....
There are Western plants that rival those plants, that no one outside of the West seems to know about. So I'm posting pics of Garrya
