Have you considered Beccariophoenix alfredii as a replacement for the coconut? Or even just for a coconut look somewhere else? Most of what Ive heard about them is that they're doing very well in locations where coconuts are marginal like central florida.
Also I think the purple plants are Rhoeo (Oyster Plant), not bromeliads.
