CFS v2 forecast for basically the latter third of January is the first map. The East looks very warm, but most of the country is as well. Also, the next 45 days looks almost as warm as the short term forecast. If this forecast holds, it appears that the worst of winter may be over (starting around 1/23) and an early spring may ensue. I will caution that I do think the SE may have to watch out for a snow late as I expect some turbulent weather coming out of this winter and La Nina. Severe storms may make a comeback this season in the South.
