While itís not been the rosey picture many thought, itís still way better than some winters Iíve seen the last 20 years here. 2014 and 2015 were both horrible. 2009-10 was awful. As was 2002-03. So far a warm 7b/8a here for many locals. Thatís as bad as most La Ninaís get. Some perspective is needed. However, not all La Ninaís end up following the recipe. This may be one that does not and there are signs already it may not. Still, if one has to lay down bets with the same scenario we were presented with in the fall, it would still be likely a mild winter should ensue. This is the challenge forecasters face going towards the future. When do these caveats occur or not occur?
