I think it's my tallest palm now . If I have a really mild winter I'll keep the skirt look , but if it gets below 17F I'm going to have to cut off the skirt and just protect the trunk . That's 2 years of skirt accumulation , but it getting too hard to protect now that it is getting so big . It will shred me trying to put lights and rags in and between all those new fronds from this season . Three years of skirt would look good but it's just a matter of time before I'll just protect the trunk , but it would be great to have a mild winter and be able to hold off from protecting it for another year .
