I know from the 1 year we have had that it did
not get below zero(this is tough because your going
to get the snow at some point)that it is quite a difference
in what can survive and come back,of course like the next year
it was -6F in March...killed the Sequoia and even the butterfly bushes.
The Sabal are able to survive because their subterranean trunks
usually dont freeze out that deep but a true Arctic blast of 2-3
weeks duration -like back in the late 80s would get them...
I am going to cover them this year.....he says just as the worlds ends.
I will say that growing palms here a is a luxury and extravagance
that falling on hard times would quickly negate...
On a happier note I think it cost me an extra $500-$600 dollars this year on my water bill-you would think for those prices I could get good
quality water that doesn't burn my plants-cuz I wont drink that stuff..
