La Mesa is slightly farther inland and in an eastern extension of the urban heat island, so more summer heat, though fortunately on kind of a plateau that's not flat-topped/mesa-like, so it drains well, so it does pretty well with winter lows too (maybe 1-2 degrees higher than mine).
Wow--another blooming starting now! That means he'll have mangoes (assuming the blooms set fruit well) in mid-late winter! Fortunately, no blooms for me now--I need the tree to put its energy into new leaves for a little while!
