Anyway, the good news...this is my mango harvest today...
The bad news, except for a few very ripe ones on one branch (from the spring flowering), the green ones were harvested (from an odd summer flowering) because there was too much weight from the mangoes on one branch! So, the branch cracked off completely while I was gone!
Fortunately, not too much damage. I always think of the risk of a winter freeze that could damage the mango, but didn't really think of the risk of overproduction (relative to tree size--which *was* 11 feet but now is about 9 feet--this was the highest branch). I will have to pick some fruit from another branch that's hanging down to keep that from splitting!
