Although its been said you can plant a tree in any month in Tennessee I have no experience moving Sabal Minors. Before Katrina took out a friends nursery I had visited in Waveland, Mississippi, he told me he had before.
He would harvest as much root zone as possible and dig the planting zone a little more deeper filled with manure and watered well for a few months. He was a native down that way and if executed in the spring I would take the risk if you don't want to leave them behind. If I had to move anywhere in Tennessee it would be where your headed Sam.
