The Crapes look awful here too
Posted by Alex NYC on 10/3/2017, 1:15 am, in reply to "What is happening to my Crepe Myrtles?"
A lot of the crape myrtles look nearly bare here. It was windy, but not enough to strip a whole tree canopy. I think the rain got to them here this season. We're at about 60 inches, most of that in the last 4 months. It's just a shame to see them all looking so ugly. I've never been in the south in the Fall so I wasn't sure if it was the rain or a heat stress thing. The crapes in my yard in NYC are usually the nicest trees on the block this time of the year and hold onto their fall foliage in Early November for a while.
I don't think this was a great summer for crape myrtles here. But they did look nice early in the year at least!
