good luck for your parents and their trip plans. frankly everything fires, fire danger, and air-quality depends on when/if the weather finally "breaks" and the fall rains start. unfortunately we normally don't get significant rain until mid Sept. at the earliest ----though there is a chance for some showers the later part of this week. that said, "experts" have predicted that the "Chetco bar fire" near Brookings just north of the California border (the largest fire in the entire country at nearly 150,000 acres---176,000 as of Sept. 6) may not be controlled until October!!!
