That's an incredible specimen Stan. I've always wanted to try Metrosideros umbellata here in the Seattle area. Obviously I'd want the source to be from the Sub-Antarctic islands south of New Zealand, the most Southern part of their range.
I've heard they are excruciatingly slow growing, and takes years before the first bloom............ but I'd still love to try it. http://1000-arbres.com/images/metrosideros_umbellata.jpg
