Thanks Jay! I really like the trunks on Alocasias. They grow pretty fast. Mine is starting to develop roots on the trunk above the ground so I don't know if it's trying to develop aerial roots or if it wants the trunk to be buried more than it is. But it looks happy.
I've heard the Borneo Giants get massive! I'd love one of those if I had the space for it.
I think what I like most about Alocasias are their ability to grow a trunk. It's pretty nice to see those big leaves in a canopy!
