Wow. The Alocasia growth with photo comparison after the move to FL is amazing.
Mine began sporting a short trunk over the winter after the summer leaves died off. The trunk began showing at a time when it grew slower & smaller. Then this summer it hasn't grown as fast or tall as it did last summer. When I looked up this attribute - I found a photo of a man climbing an 18' Alocasia macrorrhizos 'Borneo Giant' tree in the Phillipines. I also have a Borneo Giant but it's only 56" right now.
I have recently been looking into whether trunk width limits growth but your pics answer that question. I read that a characteristic of Alocasias is possible arborescence but that doesn't apply to Colocasias or Xanthosomas.
