Great BLE photos! I've never had problems with my Daphniphyllum macropodum in NYC. They seem to have no issues in winter. If mine gets to the size of that tree, I'd be so thrilled! They are so slow going so I think it'll be a few decades!
Love the schefflera. They do seem to become more common nowadays which is great to see!
Those Ligustrum lucidum look beautiful. I haven't seen them over in NYC. Ligustrum japonicum is very common in Florida though and I have one I leave out in a pot all year long in NYC and it hasn't had any issues. It should be planted more often up north!
