Thats the problem with these. Although,some people are lucky to have cultivars that set many fruits. Much more then houseplants set outside do.
I like them- but as you know Jane, timing is everything. Too soon is terrible and too long they tend to dry out.
I tried when they over ripened putting them in a bowl of water for a few hours...made a plumper fruit. It might be a bigger problem for me since they tend to ripen in winter..all our cool or even cold throws things off.
