I agree. Such a quick start to doing a wonderful yard makeover. Looks like you are having fun with the design. You should walk around UFL campus and see some of the spectacular palms/subtropicals growing. I can't remember the building (Life Science?) but they have a Strelitzia growing about 30' high. Also have the tallest mule palm I've ever seen 30'+.
One thing I would suggest is to remember how large certain plants will get. The Giant Bird of Paradise you have looks great now, but it will get large quickly. I planted two about 2' from my house and I now wish I had planted them about 3-4' away. They are looking good - just don't want them too close to the house. Look forward to seeing future photos!
