They say that Manila palms grow fine here in the Orlando area 363 days out of most years. Once or twice each winter, you may have to cover them to protect them.
Since they stay relatively small, they are easy to protect.
I had a grouping of three growing in front of my Winter Springs, FL home for many years. But, lost them in 2010 when we got down in the upper 20's a few nights and I was traveling on business. But, for all those years, they looked good and actually set fruit a few times.
