That's crazy! That's why we left in 2001; we couldn't afford to buy a house, and it has only gotten worse. Sometimes I think the biggest mistake I made was not buying the biggest piece of crap I could have afforded in 1998. I could have made a fortune when I sold, but then again, with my luck I would have sold in the crash and lost everything.
I see Fruitvale mentioned in the article. When I lived there, Fruitvale was the absolute hood. I would have never bought a house there. I remember seeing what looked like crack house for sale for $150,000 which I thought was nuts. Now there are $1M homes there? Crazy!!!
