Hey George. Hope everything is grown well out on the Beach! These pictures were taken a couple of streets up (Elliot and Broad?) from the Edgewater hotel. Down on the waterfront there is a huge Chamaerops humilis by any standards anywhere. It's a single trunk specimen surrounded by Trachycarpus in a courtyard.
It's got up to maybe 12-15ft of clear trunk, and I actually think they look more attractive with multiple trunks, and more foliage, since the leaves are a bit small on such a thick, tall trunk. I have to walk over there and take a picture one of these days.
