They should do good in Sacramento as foliage,Im not sure if blooming is a sure thing. When Sac. gets down to 27f or so...that might nip budwood.
Even south of San Jose? I notice the tree's are smaller and bushy. Could be I just saw a few runts in one neighborhood.
There is a dwarf Jacaranda Mike being sold that would be perfect for you..it can be grown in a large pot and blooms too. Protect in winter wouldnt be that big a deal.
I see them at Regans in Fremont. Hurry! not many were left. Call.
