The came back from the roots. First time in my forty one years in NM I have seen them killed to the ground.
I do not water them. So they are very drought tolerant. But the fruit can split during the monsoon rains in the upcoming 3 months. Unsplit and split pomegranate are the same, with no damage to the fruit(seeds). My favorite fruit. Probably get at least 50 this year!
