Jim, Thanks for reminding me of something.
As a civil war enthusiast and quite knowledgeable I might add, I have a question for you.
The City Government of New Orleans has decided and removed 4 historical civil war monuments. Now the city is asking the citizenry to destroy tombstones or anything factually relating to the civil war. There are hammers and chisels laying around these places where people are encouraged to take a swing or chisel your initials. (yes taxpayers money is funding this)
I was appalled when I first heard about this. There are some that say the Southern States weren't American and everything about it should be destroyed.
Now comes along a lady that will be running as Vice-Governor of Virginia (sorry I dont recall her name) that has vowed to destroy everything that even looks like a civil war memento, artifact or statue. That would cover quite a few things in Virginia.
I feel that no one owns history and to destroy it is to say it never existed.
There are many things Im not proud of that happened in the south. Im sure there were many things that happened 'overall' that no American is actually proud of. Thanks if you care to comment on. I would respect it either way.
