There was also a big deal before about FB suppressing more consevative type news stories while allowing other types of stories to post on your own page. Also it seems more deleting/censorship going on, unless the same as before and I just wasn't aware.
One must be disciplined if someone wants to concentrate on one thing like plants, because there are other facets to life, and its easy for other things to start showing up re: news inc. fake news, political stories, controversial stories like even abortion,...etc. As I said if one is disciplined you can try to steer away and there are ways to "hide" certain stories/photos but just the idea you have to even do that...So when you say "...waited for the fun to start...", while there's fun to be had, it can be mixed with some not so fun things too. Many people too after the last election got their feelings hurt, got unfriended, and into lots of arguments, and even lost friends forever with people they both know and didn't know and likely caused a lot more strife and stress than if they never joined FB to begin with.
I believe "fake news" got its start on FB then later spread to the real media. Now they say most people get their news from FB. I'd still say it can be worth it if you don't mind maneuvering and controlling what you see and what you don't want to see.
