When Facebook first started out, I set up an account, waited for the fun to start, and closed out the account 2 days later after not seeing it do anything.
Flash to present day, many years later. While Facebook has become the social media king, it is saddled with a hard Left agenda reflecting the views of its corporate owner. Good people are censored while the bad have free reign. All social media is plagued with this issue to one extent or another. I'm on Twitter, and it's in evidence there, too. But Twitter seems only about half as bad as Facebook in this regard. Of course, Twitter doesn't allow for long-form discussion/information exchange either. Everything is a trade off.
So, for folks like me, this board and others like it, say, online communities circa 1998 internet, are where I feel most comfortable.
The only thing of any consequence that is "wrong" with this board is that there seems to be no one "minding the mint" anymore. No moderator. That also has good and bad byproducts. However, among the bad appears to be an inability of new members to join us in active discussion due to no one being around to set them up.
