McCurtain Minor. All it got was a couple of inches of mulch at the base for protection. Virtually no damage. Any spotting or discoloration is from winters prior to 2017. Very happy with this palm!
Hatteras Minor. Took a lot of tip damage and some splotching mid frond. This palm was burlap wrapped. Did the protection do more harm than good? You can also see little volunteers popping up.
Sabal Palmetto looking good.
A Sabal sprout along the foundation of the front of my house. Likely Minor, but a small possibility that it's Palmetto. Years ago, I threw a few Palmetto seeds that way, but my Minors seeded a few years too, so who knows?
My smaller, lighter color Needle. (Faces south.)
My larger, darker Needle. (Faces north.)
This palm took zero damage this year. Any spots you see are from winters prior to 2017. Very healthy palm. Lost its central trunk 2 or 3 years ago. What you see here are the suckers surrounding the central trunk. Those suckers have proven to be very tough.
I'll post more later.
