Citrus possible in Austin TX?

Anyone know if the more cold hardy types like satsuma doable there in the ground? They are zone 9b (22F) in town if you go by last 30 years and have Washingtonian and Phoenix palms. However seems cold blast can last really long there. In 2011 stayed below freezing two days in a row with a low of 17F. Wonder if Tony in DFW knows.
