My Manihot grahamiis are coming back :
A first for me is to have a Castor Bean plant come back in the spring . I didn't protect it at all . Something I've found is that on Manihot grahamiis it's best to let the plant die down naturally during the winter instead of cutting it back after the first hard freeze . That seems to help with the plant returning in the spring . That may be the case for this Castor Bean as well . I never cut it down but just left it alone all winter until a week ago when I cut it a few inches above the ground :
