Thanks for the update! I am interested in seeing how the washy does as the season progresses. I am pretty amazed that it is putting out new growth. I think that a hurricane cut sabal and washy probably have similar hardiness as transplants because sabal transplants take such a long time to establush, but I am amazed at the idea that a washingtonia can handle 4 degrees in Oklahoma in it's 1st winter especially! That's way overshooting their normal comfort zone. I wonder what protection they offered if any.
Definitely keep us updated. I would be very surprised if the Butia or Sabal pulled through. I have had butias that are green after winter die from spear rot. That's why I stopped growing them, they were way too good at looking alive when they were dead inside.
