Im exciting about some Sabal seeds that Bill is sending me. I would like to know how I should go about germinating them, I dont have the priveledge of hot spring and my house temp is in the low 70sF all year round. I suppose these temps are too cool. So I was thinking about buying a heat mat from the local reptile store and place a ziplock bag containing the peat and seeds. My question is, are the reptile heat mats too hot?? Will this cook the seed? After the seeds "pop" do I plant them in pots right away or do I wait for the leaves to show??? I've actually never grown palms from seeds- so this will be a first. Can the seedlings survive low 70s in the house while I wait for temps outside to get hot????
