Even with a Nor'easter snow storm every few years, officially Philly is in zone 7A. However, because I reside in Center City, have not registered a low below 10 degrees F in my backyard for several years now, and overwinter supposed zone 8 plants even in above ground patio pots with no protection, I list my zone as 7/8.
Take it for what you will. It is what it is and pushing hardiness limits, like with my hardy palms and other items,is fun.
