Last year, we had to evacuate because of a hurricane, and it was my sister, her husband, their son, his wife and their daughter in my group. I wear my Vietnam veterans and POW/MIA caps a lot and when we stopped at a buffet in Shreveport on our way home, one of the waiters walked up to me and said "Welcome Home". Of course I extended the welcome and then realized my nephew's wife was giving me a puzzled look. So I asked what? She said, "We are still 140 miles from home, why did he say welcome home to you?" So then I explained to her.
I would really like to extend my best wishes, prayers and thoughts to the military community at Ft. Hood. It is a sad day for America when our defenders are loosing their lives to an enemy within their own ranks. As I said on Facebook, tomorrow's veterans need our thoughts and prayers more than yesterday's veterans.
