Frankly, if I had that photo and signature of SC that you had in the original post, then in my mind it would be authentic and a precious possession to me anyway. That post is almost a year old, if I am not mistaken, but I would send a pic (if I had one) of SC to sign and when I got it back it would be his signature.
Ramon sent photos to me and one of them just had his signature. Now (this is done a lot) if I wanted to, I could go on EBay and sell that one. But the one with my name on it (with his other words also), I could not sell. If the performer sells autographed photos, then this would be a problem for them. Does SC sell his autograph? If not then there is no reason to question the signature really, is there? If you are going to sell it then you have to make sure that it is authentic. 'Nuff said!

: Hi guys, haven't been here in ages but I
: thought I'd stop by and see what has been
: happening.
: When I saw this topic I had to read it. I
: agree with lovesmyron that Stephen's actual
: autograph is much more detailed than this
: one. His writing is much neater. Having done
: fanclubs for some soap stars in the recent
: past I know that they sometimes authorize
: their "agents" to sign their names
: to photos etc and answer fan mail since they
: don't have the time to do it themselves. It
: looks like this may be the case here. I'm
: sure the address is legit however I would
: not bet the ranch that it is actually
: Stephen's actual signature.
: Hope you all are doing well and it's great
: to see everyone still carrying on the TOD

: Okay gang.
: Here is my observations from looking at the
: different autographs I have from him and the
: one that Craig has at the bottom of his page
: on SC
: http://www.hum90.com/stephen_caffrey.htm
:
: The one from the Insight page reminded me of
: Wentworth Miller's autograph (Prison
: Break)..he scribbled his name on a script
: and poster that I won from a televison
: station for the finale of Prison Break...It
: is authentic, but designed so that no one can
: copy his autograph....
:
: In all the autographs that I have from
: Steve, his "St" is very
: distinctive and the "C"
: "ff" and "y".....the
: insight one is more scribbled...the
: autographs that I have are very closely
: matched to the one on Craig's page...SC last
: signed something for me in 2007 and the
: signature still matches the one on Craig's
: page....
:
: That said..I do not doubt that the autograph
: from Insight is legit....he just might have
: had a stack of photos to sign and he did it
: in a hurry.... did my explanation help or
: just confuse everyone??
