Hey all,
Sorry I've been away so long... been pretty intense here. I got PRK eye surgery immediately after Christmas break, so I couldnt see for a while, and it's taken me until now to get caught back up... so I appoligize for my absense... But the good news is no more glasses!
In other news, Post Night was a week ago. It all goes by class rank, so the top guy in the branch gets his choice of the available posts, and then so on down the list... I was 8/103 for Armor, so not too bad... I ended up choosing Ft Riley, KS... not the most glamorous of posts (my other top choices were Ft Carson, CO; Germany; Ft Lewis, WA; Hawaii), but a bunch of my friends (2 armor guys, 1 engineer, and 1 MP) are all going there, so it'll be nice to go with guys I know. Plus, it's relatively close to home (~7 hours to drive) so thats not bad either. I'll be with the 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One!). We'll get our Brigade assignments in April I think... I'm hoping for one of recon Cavalry squadrons in one of the heavy brigades there (either 1st or 2nd Brigade), so we'll see...
Other than that, not much new... same old here... getting pretty sick of it, cant wait to get out. 107 more days...
Next weekend is 100th Night for us, so the girlfriend is coming up for that; there's a big banquet and ball, so that'll be fun...
