Posted by HEARTOFTHEAPBT-RU on November 25, 2001, 10:56 am Since the advent of the I-net I have notice a lot of misinformation regarding these dogs. 1: Time in show equals game or lack of. 2: Damage equals game 3: Tail dropping or fuzzing is sign of a cur. 4: They are only flesh and blood they can or will quit. 5:Many claim to have Game Bred dogs, this may be true but at the same time it is not. 6: Squeeling in the square is the sign of a cur 7: A game test is proof a dog is game 8: Opposite Sexes will not battle as hard as they do into the same sex, or one sex has an advantage 9: Said dog is just too much dog to test, 10: Breeding to brother of Great Producer is as good as producer since they are identically bred. This is pure fiction....For entertainment purposes only.
I don't support any activity that goes against the animal act, yadda yadda yadda....
Myth Busting
by Pinky & the Brain
Myth Busting: 10 common myths I read about.
Misinformation I mean by the total lack of proof of many statements, many of these are in direct
conflict of information I have learned over the years. As in every other form of information exchange
I feel if a piece can be proven to be false then entire statement is false. Here a some that I can think
of:
I find this to be false, much more must be taken into consideration. Such as what was done in the
time frame, physical condition of dog and opponent during the time frame
Once again a myth, time must also be taken into consideration, damage in the first 10 minutes may
Be severe but this does not mean the dog is game however it does mean the other dog can dish out
Some damage it also means the damaged one will go for a bit while damaged. But as I said it does not
have to equate to said dog is game
Tails do drop with dogs and this does not mean a thing at times, it can mean the dog is tired.
Remember it takes physical energy to hold a tail up and to wag. When dogs are being tested
They may have reached the point that this action is just expending too much energy. Really a dog
doing the lizard crawl should not have to be expected to concentrate on holding a tail up, just as
sucking the tail beneath the belly takes energy so does holding it up. Some dogs just do not even do
such things from the get go. Second half fuzzing of tail at base well there are some things that the
canine does without thought. We have bred much out of the bulldog, but tail fuzzing which IMO is
part of raising hackles is not Always bred out of dog.
And the point being? So are we and so are chickens.
Now if we want to say the bird is less enlightened then the canine then fine, but we, as humans I feel
are more enlightened then dogs. Mankind has a history of going past the distance when a loss is in
front of their Face yet they do not quit. So if the less enlightened bird will continue and the more
enlightened Human will then why should the Canine be excluded?
Examples: men offer their lives on many occasions to save others knowing full well said actions will
mean their mortality. Mothers have been known to do incredible events for the love of their children
and put themselves in a life threatening position. Which is all a choice for the human examples just as
the scratch is a choice for the canine. Men and women have competed until they can go no further
the proverbial CANNOT SCRATCH look to competitive combat and Ironman contest for examples
This can only be claimed for part of ped. I do not know of one Game bred dog in existence
If we are to say all dogs are game in the pedigree, or their breeding. I will state this regarding using a
6-generation pedigree. I would make a wager in most cases it will not work with a 4-generation
pedigree. I have yet to see a ped on a dog that every dog was tested. If there is one out there, I
would like to see it. Just so we know I am not stating there is not one, I have yet to see it.
Once again another myth, these dogs can squeel for an assortment of reasons, and it does not mean
that they are about to quit.
False again, the dog can very well quit the next time out, we can only assume the dog to be game. If
you subcribe to quit equals cur and game is a living opinion of what just might be deadgame.
over the other.
In this case there is no evidence to support the myth. What evidence we do have is this.
Sometimes a male will whoop a female, some times a female can whoop a male. For above myth to
be a fact the same results must occour in each experiment. Well this is not the case. So we have to
go back to the facts.. And they state, some dogs may and some may not. Kinda like some dogs will
scratch into their same sex opponent and some will not. Some males will breed and some will
not. Some are 30 minute wonders and some are game plugs that keep coming and stop the more
talented dog by frustration and nothing else
Horse hockey, no dog is too much of a dog, owner is not enough dogman to do the test!
Or owner is unaware of procedures to test all types of dogs.
Well first thing is, no dog is identically breed. Identical has a definite meaing in the case of dogs
The only thing identical are the dogs in the paper work. The actual DNA of each individual is not the
same, nor are littermates. If it was the case, ROM dogs should have littermates prodcuing as well.
Littermates should be as good as the next littermate. Since none of the requirments are met, dogs
cannot be identical only similar unless of course they are identical twins and too be truthfull I am not
sure there is such a thing with multiple birthings as opposed to animals such as Herbibores humans
and such that have twins but generally have a single offspring
