: The only thing worse than the artwork is the
: way Danny is written. I don't think I've
: ever read anything else from David Walker
: but I'm dead certain he's never read a
: single book featuring Iron Fist (or if he
: did, he didn't let the established
: characterization get in his way). His take
: on IF is generic comedy sidekick/idiot, the
: sort of character Rob Schneider used to
: play. I was actually angry when I saw the
: advanced art for the book, an impression
: that seeing the first two books only
: reinforced. I've wanted these characters
: back together for a very long time and the
: debut of their individual Netflix series
: seemed a great opportunity to finally see
: that happen. With Sanford Green on the art,
: another fellow who is new to me, it's
: virtually guaranteed this book won't even
: make it to the launch of LUKE CAGE.
This installment of art was not my favourite either - the poor color shades did not help. On the plus side there were other bad art issues, with strong MU titles, this week too and some of the panels were fine - like the 2 that are in the banner submission below . And yeah, the complete disregard in Iron Fist's rich -and often frustrating- MU canon has been on of my pet peeve problems with too many of his supporting roles for a looong time now. Another nitpick, Tombstone was dealt with, with kid gloves which was done more for themed comical effect than with satisfying karmic results. Otherwise this was a strong concluding chapter to long overdue and hopeful reboot to an encore PM&IF run. There was generally fun content in this premiere storyline -well, except for the nagging wife- and Señor Mágico could be a smart addition to the cast.
