Iron Fist The Living Weapon 003

I for one am looking forward to seeing Iron Dad kick ass next issue.
Is monk kid carrying an egg or a head?
Yeah. It's just too grim and hypeviolent for its own good. I'm not one for those sorts of stories.
A little bit too dark to be honest, but overall not bad.
Lei kung literally just became yu-ti and Davos was redeemed in the last run right? For him to heel face turn this fast is dumb.
Oh hey, someone remembers the Prince of Orphans!
Any other Iron Fist runs like this? I'm enjoying this and I've never read anything about him before.
I do enjoy it, but I don't see why we needed to kill all of Kun'Lun. I get raising the stakes but, this is straight up sending the stakes to Mars. We got any Dragon Balls to do damage control?
This is the kinda book that, as >>62474916 said, would probably work better under an imprint like MAX or at least Marvel Knights. On its own, I think it's really good. But it's the kinda thing that really screws things up when applied to a wider universe. Making it semi-canon and just going buck wild with it might have been the better move (not that Andrews isn't already going buck wild with it), but I imagine it wouldn't sell very well if they did that. It's also really goddamn impressive that he's doing the writing, art, and coloring all himself. You really don't see that very often. Even just doing both the coloring and art isn't very common in Big 2 comics, let alone writing it too. And managing a monthly schedule.
His attitude is whack. If he was in this funk because of getting hit by the Watcher Eye blast, that could've given his mood shift a better pair of legs to stand on.
I really live the hulking, shambling character who's concealed by a cloak trope as you get that little mini-mystery as to what that enormous mass he's concealing is made out of: bulky armor, extra limbs, a second guy, a flying apparatus, super weapons, a freaking conflagration of flesh. Even though we know what this guy looks like, we still don't know what he's hiding beneath his robe.
Crimeny this is so terrible. Why, Marvel, why?
Got these yesterday at my LCS and while I enjoyed it, it was kinda too grimdark. I feel like Iron Fist is at his best when he's not 100% serious.
classic iron fist was a great balance between serious and fun
Not really for me. If this story was starring Iron Fist: Orson Randall, this would be pretty fun. But it doesn't really fit Danny, who seemed to overcome most of these issues years ago. It's an even bigger jump when you read Danny in Mighty Avengers, and Danny here. But implying Danny isn't just super depressed when he can't be with his bff lover Luke Cage -- I guess I can treat it as an alternate universe type of story, though.
I'm liking the story so far. Just taking it for what it is and not expecting another IIF. It looks like Andrews is having fun with it and I am just glad to have a new Iron Fist story to read
that'd apply better if the continuity was used in any capacity beyond that but as it is this continuity was set up by brubaker and then is being used for the second time here and having everything killed or changed
Seriously though, I'd love it if this was an AU Iron Fist, because for Davos to turn like that, nah bro. It would mean that his redemption in IIF would have been for nothing, to just turn him into a villain like this again. Also, what about John Aman? Didn't Danny have beef with him in the Defenders? I'm probably wrong since it's been a long while since I read it, but weren't they at each other's throats?
Well not exactly. It was used again here and there. Prince of Orphans in Secret Avengers. K'un-lun and the Thunderer played pretty big parts in Bendis' AvX tie-ins. The other immortal weapons and 7 cities in various other event tie-in books.
makes me wonder if its all just gonna be laid to waste or if theres a fix-it coming at the end of the run
We'll be getting more Iron Fist than you've ever wanted soon enough.
Danny throwing a fit and snapping the tree was stupid.
