SHE-HULK
Too bad she wasnt around for this adventure. Odd Kyle didnt recruit her this ish. She surely wouldve agreed. Smiled at her Keep On Trucking pose - and she's one of the few strong people who could seriously pull that off.

PENNYSWORTH
Okay then, that's it for him then... or not.

NIGHTHAWK
Despite some artistic liberties with costume details and instory debatable decisions it's great that Kyle is determined to keep the Defenders going and published. A Delta Level threat must be low level to chance hiring random mercs, ASAP, to resolve such a risk. Wondering how his SHIELD access clearance compares to allow his hacking. His mere 2 panel recruitment for each member was poorly done - NOT something to be desired. Wonder where he commandeered that ship to get to the oil rig or if the vague alert indicated Brand off panel. Taking the lead to FLY down oil rig closed corridors was certainly - one tactic.

PALADIN
It's GREAT he sees action again but his joining here completely diminishes his entertaining sitch at the end of H4H series. Thought his SHIELD status would be to unique at this stage (ala Scorpion plot) to be able to just call him up and join - though he does belong on the team. Neat to see Carnelia mentioned and his beard stubble.

JUNTA
Was open to an unkown face joining. So, he has a Spanish Skeets? Educational. Also, open to unique powers for the fun team. So, he can make people barf ala Southpark? M'okay then... probably not as gross as, say, a walking cadaver.

ATLAS
Hiring an ex-criminal and recovering giant who is once again a CRIMINAL and UNSTABLE giant is just wrong and culpable. He doesnt really bring anything to the table as is.

U-MAN and QUINTRONIC MAN
Great fun to see. Have had fanfic ideas for them for a long time. Hopefully this direction will tap their potential.

YANDROTH and RECORDER
Good subplot interlude to try to keep the mini tied together. Never read a Yan' story before so interesting to compare his actions with his rep.

STRANGE and DAIMON
Doc's appearance seemed forced and his SI continuity/mystery status compromised just to have him appear. With his soon to be main character status, Hellstrom got poor character layout here; it wouldve been nice to learn something about his status instead. A longer-than-one-panel fight against Nightmare's Herd couldve been as exciting as Defenders against oil rig goons.

KRANG
Hasnt Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird tried to exclusively own that name by now? Dont want a Wolverine/Punisher wannabe and Frontline/Atlantean hasbeen on this lighthearted team so much.
