-terrible cover because not story relevant at all, having NO Danny in this otherwise solid issue.
-Previously Page: Just registered the loser cities merge with Earth every 5 years instead of 10. That doesnt sound like a booby prize. What's the problem with that? Is it all a xenophobic thing? It would seem to be advantageous since uniting every 88 years is Heaven.
-the art is not bad per se but still trying to get use to it. The good part is that it has maintained consistency and the fights choreography has been excellent. As have most facial closeups.
-this series will definitely be better to read all at once to appreciate the intricasies(sp?) being weaved into the exsisting Iron Fist mythos. Plus the readers are getting 2 storylines, one past, one present to focus on separately.
-the Dog Brother#1/Bride of the Nine Spiders bout was interesting while it lasted but then the readers are denied the details of the victory. She seems more DC-Death-dame goth (with a dose of creepy FNS-MsArrow thrown in) than the bodacious burlesque badgirl shown in the Annual last month. The inconistency was distracting but the imagery was cool.
-"JE JE JE JE JE JE" is a neat catchphrase that could appear some future story in a neat way with her off panel
-the daughter/YuTi sequence was excellent drama with a wonderful segue to "I pray you can see this blow coming..."
-the promise of more old school H4H vs HYDRA next issue is exciting (damn, those are scary odds, again)
-"We just stumbled into the belly of the beast at dinnertime."
-the Thunderer/Davos analogy is developing and clues of the Orphan's identity are given (hope to read guesses here).
-poor Jeryn. Which he showed a bit more backbone after his NA portrayal.
-so Wendell won, eh? That's interesting surprise(that was nicely worded) 'cuz IIRC Steel Serpent tried to hug Shao Lao...
